With MindCare, you will have an opportunity to spend quality time building trusting relationships and providing person-centred support to people with dementia. As a Sessional Dementia Support Worker, you will be covering the London Borough of Bromley including Orpington, Biggin Hill, St Paul’s Cray, St Mary’s Cray and Beckenham

The qualities we are looking for include:

  • an ability to use initiative.

You will have an interest, and perhaps some personal or work experience, in supporting older people.

A full driving licence, use of a car and knowledge of the local areas are desirable.

You will be required to work in people’s homes for sessions of 3-4 hours at a time, to provide respite for carers and for people living alone. This will involve keeping individuals stimulated and maintaining their independence through activities both within and outside the home.

MindCare provides a respite service 7 days a week from 8am to 11pm. We also provide an overnight service from 8pm-8am. You may also be asked to provide cover for staff absences in our Dementia Support Centres which is paid at £8.45 per hour.
